JOINING STANCE
Auditions for STANCE are now closed for the current season. While we are no longer accepting auditions at this time, we encourage you to stay connected with us. Be sure to follow STANCE on social media for updates on our upcoming concerts and other events throughout the season.

WHO CAN AUDITION?
Anyone over age 18 who self identifies as under the Transgender and/or Nonbinary umbrellas is encouraged to audition. We will not be policing identities or labels in this group. Singers of all experience levels are welcome to join. Currently we are an adult choir (ages 18+) but if you are a parent or teen and are interested in the chorus, please sign up for updates as we may expand the age range down to 16+ in the future.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY AUDITION?
The purpose of the initial audition is to hear your voice and help you learn more about your range and what sections you could sing in. We’ll do some range finding exercises and learn more about where you are in your music experience journey. No need to prepare anything.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR AUDITIONS?
To signup for an audition time, please complete the audition form and submit a recording of yourself. At the end of the form will be a link to signup for a timeslot.

WHAT IF I CAN'T READ MUSIC?
You are not required to be able to read music to join us. Singers of all experience levels are welcome. If you are worried about your ability to keep up, we do offer an early-season “crash course” in music and you can always ask for help from your peers and section coordinators. STANCE prioritizes finding rehearsal tracks to help singers learn the music we are singing each season.

WHAT ARE YOUR COVID PRECAUTIONS?
These policies are updated as of June 2025. All singers will be provided with N95 quality singer’s masks and we will require them at all times when indoors except when taking a sip of water. We recognize that singing in person can be made safer by the use of masking and vaccination policies. STANCE will do our best to make it as safe as possible for singers and we ask singers to do as much as possible to keep each other safe as well. No in-person singing will be risk-free, but we also recognize the positive mental health value in singing together and gathering for community. If singers are feeling at all unwell, we ask them to stay home and join virtually.
